Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a sleepy part of Montreal Island known as West Island. This part of Montreal is known as the West Island has a lot of diverse communities. For those who haven't known about it may confuse it with a separate, west-facing island. Amanda Brugel was born there however her stay was not long in the city. Brugel grew to be a young woman in Courtice Ontario, just outside Oshawa. The first goal she had was to become a dancer. Then, a growth rate increased her height and she outgrew every dance partner she had. A Toronto Star article revealed she's six feet tall, with heels. She was given an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program and graduated from the program in 2000, earning a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. For the past twenty years, the roles played by Brugel on TV and the big screen have been numerous. The character of Rita from the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale was her most notable. Brugel appeared only on rare moments in the very first season of The Handmaid's Tale. She was the only Canadian actor.
